The Toilet is one of the most important fixtures in the home or business, although toilets are a sturdy and have reliable components of the plumbing system.
The easiest toilet repair task is replacing the toilet lid and the toilet seat. There are so many styles of toilet seats so you shouldn’t have any trouble replacing one. Most modern toilets are manufactured in two standard sizes and replacement toilet seats are made to fit them.
Once you have the correct size toilet seat, you will need to remove the broken toilet seat, to do this you will need to remove the two nuts on the hinge and lift your old toilet seat up and out. Sometimes the nuts securing the toilet seat may be rusted or corroded so you can apply some penetrating oil to help loosen the nuts, making sure you give enough time for the oil to soak in then use a wrench to try and loosen them. If you can’t reach the nuts with a regular wrench, try and use a socket wrench but don’t use to much force.
