Just when you think “what next” there is someone like Marc who reaffirms your trust in others.
During this period of Covid lockdown the Rowner Community Trust have been working to ensure that there will be future opportunities for young people to gain skills and experience whilst putting back into their own community. One such person who has been putting back into his community is Marc Smith from GHS Mechanical. The Trust has been replacing our old kitchen with a commercial kitchen we managed to get second hand. Our aim is to provide ready meals for vulnerable people in Gosport using supplies from foodshare whilst enabling young people a catering experience to gain confidence and skills.
However, we hit a snag with our kitchen extractor fan. The one we had wasn’t the right type and didn’t work as required. GHS Mechanical and Marc came to have a look and made some great suggestions. To my surprise a few days later rather than a quote Marc generously offered his services. Just when you think “what next” there is someone like Marc who reaffirms your trust in others.
Call-out for boiler failure on a Sunday afternoon
Repaired in 2 hours from call I was very impressed that from my first phone call they arrived and fixed the fault first time within 2 hours.
Remove and install new baxi back boiler and new radiator
Fast and friendly service from GHS. Roy the engineer was excellent; he turned up on time on the three days he was with us. His work was first class, neat and tidy. Excellent!!
Emergency repair
My mother’s heating system broke down completely and they fixed it within a few hours. My mum is quite old and frail; they were conscientious and very reasonable with price, very happy.

Fixed my boiler
The plumber who came was polite and very helpful as I have an old boiler it is hard to locate parts but it was fixed and running within 24-hours of ringing.
Leak from our oil boiler
I wanted to write to you to say that yet again we continue to be thrilled with the service we have received from GHS.
We recently had a nasty diesel smell coming from our boiler which was running throughout the office – not a good impression with clients.
I fired off a quick email to Marc explaining that we had a problem with the boiler and an experienced oil specialist engineer was with us the very next day!
He discovered we had a leak coming from our oil boiler, which he quickly rectified and then opened all our windows to relieve us of the diesel smell. The engineer was polite and took the time to explain the problem and how he had fixed it. Crucially, he was also very tidy and left our office, just as he found it.
The service from GHS continues to be reliable, efficient and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marc and his team to anyone with commercial or domestic heating needs!
Water dripping through my ceiling
I called Marc, one morning, in a total panic when I discovered water dripping through the hall ceiling. It was becoming wetter by the minute and Marc was amazing and got his guys into action and they turned up within half an hour.
Norman tried to find the cause but it wasn’t until he made a hole in the ceiling that it became clear we had had a problem for some time. Poor Norman got soaked but didn’t stop, until he had found the cause and stopped the flow. We have employed Marc on several occasions now, and every time he or his team have been on time, polite, knowledgeable and above all, trustworthy.
It is reassuring to know that you can call on a company that aren’t going to rip you off and do what they say they are going to do, in your best interests, not theirs.
I would not hesitate to recommend GHS to anyone, as at the end of the day… it will stop their bleating if they use GHS!!
