It’s always good to bleed your radiators at least once a year, check these helpful tips out on how to Bleed your radiators…. “Remember if you bleed your radiators you may need to “top up” or “Repressurise” your boiler, to do this check on line googling top up “your boiler make and model” this will show you how to use the filling loop.
- Turn off your heating
- Use your radiator key to turn the valve at the top of the radiator
- Re-tighten the valve once the hissing stops and only liquid come out
- Turn your heating system back on
- Check the pressure by looking at the gauge on your boiler. (check manufacturer instructions)
If there are radiators in the house that are not near the boiler and they are cooler than those radiators near the boiler the radiators may need to be balanced. One of our GHS engineers can help with this. Another Radiator problem is that they can get hot on the top of the radiator but remain cold at the bottom, this is normally due to dirt and debris being built up inside the system over time, This can prevent your home from getting warm and making your heating bills more expensive, you will need to have a power flush put through the system which an engineer can perform.
